Purpose

- Understand the role process mapping plays in process improvement and requirements gathering

- Understand the role that process maps play in scoping out the requirements gathering portion of a project
- Know when and how to use the common BPMN symbols including:
- Events
- Activities
- Gateways
- Sequence and Message flows
- Expanded and collapsed sub-processes
- Swimlanes and pools and many more
- Identify process owners and the role they play in the process
- Break down high level end to end processes into their appropriate components
- Determine how to identify requirements down to the use case / activity level and where they fit in the overall process
- Identify critical data and how it fits in each process
- Identify Best Practices when mapping your processes
