How do I use the BRD Template I've downloaded? Print E-mail

*** DO NOT OPEN (DOUBLE CLICK) THE .DOT FILE ***

To use any Word template (.dot file) like the BRDv4.3.dot it must be stored in Word's template folder. 

Installing the Template
-----------------------
The 'BRDv4.3.dot' template should be placed in your Word templates folder or directory.
To find where your Word templates are located:
 a) Use Search (or Find) to identify the location of 'normal.dot' and copy 'BRDvx.x.dot' to this folder, or 
 b) In Word 2003 or earlier, select Tools,Options, File Locations.
    Choose User or Workgroup Templates,
    Click modify to identify the path to your Word templates folder,
    Copy 'BRDvx.x.dot' to this folder.

Creating a new Document
-----------------------
Choose File New from the Word menu bar.
a) In Word 2000 or earlier, select a document based on the BRD template.
b) in Word 2003, click on "Templates - On my computer" in the right-hand side pane.
