Job Description:
You are an IT professional with extensive business and systems experience. You understand the key issues facing today's development projects. Your background might include these various positions: Project Manager, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Independent Consultant, Project Leader, Database Analyst, IT Management, IT Planning, either in a systems or business environment.
You bring 10+ years of diverse IT (mainframe through client/server) experience, and a strong business background to this consulting position.
You are comfortable working at a strategic level with all levels of business and technical subject matter experts in the elicitation of business and systems requirements. You have a degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience. You also possess excellent knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and specifically Software Engineering and Structured Systems Analysis and Design methodologies. You must have experience facilitating JAD-like end-user requirements sessions and are able to communicate clearly and effectively with end-users, senior business managers and other team members. Ideally, you have Best Requirements Practicesä experience, have worked in a variety of industries on many different type of systems. Strong preference is given to those who are familiar with and have used The Information Architecture Group's Best Requirements Practices and who have an above average proficiency in data modeling.
Your responsibilities will include; delivering vision/scope documents and functional specifications, pilot planning, test planning, deployment planning, support and manageability, and the total cost of ownership.
You have impeccable communication skills, are well organized, enjoy presenting information to others.
You are a natural leader and will be relied upon to leverage your technical background and business acumen to lead our client's various business areas in process re-engineering.
Responsibilities include:

Facilitating Requirements Analysis and Design (JAD) Sessions with Business and Systems Clients

Producing Business Requirements Specifications, Requests for Proposal, System Requirements Specs, Software Design Documents

Conducting Peer Reviews and Client Reviews of Specifications
-
Coordinating the Requirements Management Process through to Detailed Design
-
Coaching, mentoring and training client systems staff in software engineering best practices.
-
Project and requirements management throughout the front-end of the development project. This would include such activities as preparing and managing the project plan for the requirements & design phases
