IAG is currently seeking a seasoned Data Architect Consultant to lead the data architecture effort of a large scale, complex project.

IAG Consulting is an international IT professional services company that uses its renowned Requirements Discovery ProcessTM to help Fortune 500 and other large organizations define and manage business and system requirements for software development. 

The selected candidate:

  • Will lead the development of the baseline description of the Data Architecture for a multi-State, multi-system modernization/consolidation project.
  • Will work from preliminary business data model, use case models and other documentation to iteratively develop a complete Logical Data Model.
  • Will work with project Business Analysts and Client Subject Matter Experts to validate a new Logical Data Model.
  • Will be responsible for defining and managing data interoperability requirements, data principles, and data standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Validation and completion of the Conceptual/Business Data Model.
  • Map existing data portfolio to the Enterprise Models and identify data gaps, overlaps and inconsistencies.
  • Create consolidated Data Dictionary.
  • High level data mapping.
  • Ensure projects' compliance to general architecture mandates, data architecture guidelines and standards, and commitments to delivery of strategic components.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience developing conceptual, logical, physical models for operational systems, data warehouses (relational, dimensional, class models).
  • Expertise in data modeling and data administration tools (Rational, InfoSphere, ERwin or similar products).
  • Experience modeling business rules based system
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Understanding SOA principles, implementation methodologies, issues and related tools.
  • Proactive attitude, ability to work independently and a desire to continuously learn new skills and technologies.
  • Detail oriented with superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have written articles, blogs, posts, courseware, presentations related to data architecture (and can provide access for review)

  • Physical Data Modeling
  • Rational Software Architect Experience
  • InfoSphere Data Architect
  • Use Case Modeling
  • Working experience with UML
  • Multi-dimensional Star Schema modeling

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or 10 years related work experience.
  • Over 5 years in a Data Analyst, Data Architect, Data Modeler or Information Architect position.
  • Must have a Canadian Passport, US Passport or US Work Visa.
